Ian Bunch

Ian Bunch is the recipient of this year's $3,000 Locumtenens.com Fore Hope Scholarship. From Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Ian is a 19 year old survivor of CDH, and after beginning his collegiate studies at St. Johns River State College is planning to transfer to Flagler College in Jacksonville this Fall to pursue a degree in Strategic Communications. A fighter like Hadley his entire life, Ian has overcome lingering adverse effects of his initial CDH repair surgery that at times affect his ability to transfer and retain short-term memories. However, not one to let that hold him back from achieving his goals he's worked incredibly hard for many years to develop a system of reminders in a series of journals and day timers that he constantly keeps up to date so not to fall behind in anything.

In addition to his academic interests, Ian is also an accomplished surfer and has volunteered his time to help with surf camps for area youth, and has also put his talents as a photographer to use capturing images of area surfers and local Jacksonville bands.
